Closing my eyes
Many times it is uplit
When I close my eyelids
I close them tight
And pull the blanket tight in
And I turn to the side
And hold a ball, a knife, some beads
Or just lie flat on the back
And open up, and feel
And see the lights in
It is always safe
Even when it sounds bleak
It is just colours
Of dark nights
And bright skies
Resting in the end, relaxing
Replenishing for the next day
Next life, upcoming tensions
Drama and dreams
A life of play and horror
Being of flesh sounds finite
Sounds cautious
And I lie on my back
And do not think, only see
And feel, opening, relaxing
Being of a consciousness
That experiences the support
Of all this interconnectedness
